I have had to put down 2 dogs in the last 3 years. One I had for 6 years & the other for 14 years, he was my constant companion. It was hard to do but it was in their best interest as both had terminal cancer & were in pain. I still haven't made up my mind if I want another dog.
I feel for your loss, hopefully time will heal and just pleasant memories will remain.
