You are asking for heartbreak doing it that way.

What if A makes changes to her copy and B makes changes to his, too. Then, when you try to put the two together...whose do you use?

Not saying it can't be done...just that it is fraught with peril. Much better to run software that supports multiple concurrent users, if that is the way you want to roll.
