Subject: Python not for the faint of heart

Interesting thread and thoughts. Before the popularity of employment web-sites, you could look at the "Help Wanted" columns and see what was being sought.

I am a Java, Visual Basic, Perl writer. I also enjoyed using SuSE Linux on our servers, and learned to like Red Hat. That said, I'm trying to broaden my skill-set, and sticking my toe in Python. My college has dropped Java in their computer science curriculum in favor of Python. Two of the Profs have written text books on the subject.

I'm using Solo Learn app on my phone to learn, but you need a very firm understanding of Java before you want to try this app's method of teaching.
