Google VOB to MP4 converter. Several free downloads available but they may watermark your conversion until you pony up for a license. Edit: I've also used HandBrake and upon further checking, it seems that it will load VOB files and convert them to your preferred format. It is a free program that works whether you buy a license or not.
Thanks Ed. Looks like Handbrake might be what I need.
