Roaming the plains | Sounds like a good salesman in that he is keeping contact. That is what a salesperson has to do. How often does your current salesman call on you if he's not a buddy, neighbor, or relative?
He should bring some equity in his calls though. Provide you with some value thru information or insight. He may end up having something that you will want in the future.
