Subject: Got me thinking

It would be very helpful to have two vices mounted say 4' apart or in a "track" on the bench. Maybe one on each end of the bumper.

I have to find out how large one has to go to get grade 8 countersunk fastners to secure the jaws. It might work to drill through the vise head and secure with a lock nut. Heating stuborn pieces ruins locktite and streatches the dantiy little screws.

Taking the vise completely apart, cleaning, lubricating and adjusting doesn't hurt. Of course still doesn't prevent stupid attacks. Just something else to do while the economy melts down. Not much stimulus here.
