C IL | You need a bridge. In your case a bridge is a longer-distance radio link between two WiFi routers.

Basically you setup two satellite dishes the size of a frisbee to point towards each other. You need the dish, a bracket screwed to something where you have a clean line of sight between the two dishes, and an Ethernet wire running from the dish to your router. You may also need a Power-over-Ethernet adapter (PoE adapter) to power the dish, that’s something you plug into a 120v receptacle that injects power into the Ethernet wire to provide power to the dish radio. This is the hardware part.
Then you need to configure the system to work together.
I suggest you call a local IT person for the configuration and terminating the Ethernet ends, that’s what we did. It just works easier to get everything configured but we have quite a bit of network infrastructure.
Some flavor of Ubiquiti NanoStation will probably work, you can cruise their site to get a fit for your distance needs. | |
