Subject: Re: scope choice for 204 ruger

West Central Wisconsin
Just sold a Leupold Long Range 6.5-20x40 with varmint reticle I had on a 22-250 Sav that I sold. Still have one on a 223 Savage. Great scopes. Also have a Weaver T-15 and V-16 w/fine cross hair/dot on another 223 and a 204 and a Bushnell 5-15 on a short barrelled AR-15. Nothing wrong with buying high end glass but after 5 years of shooting dogs I realized I can't shoot any better than the scope or the rifle can, so the Weavers at half the price work best for me. As far as magnification goes, hardly any of our group shoots over 14 X. It's much easier to see your hits,(or misses), with a wider field of view. My vote for most bang for the buck would be Weaver, especially the V-16 with that fine cross and dot. IMO, Joe.
