7 is supposed to ship sometime later this year.
HOWEVER, I read recently that you may not be able to install 7 over XP without slipping Vista in the middle - would have to do a clean install. True or not, I don't know. The article I read stated that this would piss a lot of large corporations off as they have been holding out for 7 due to Vista's bad reputation.
