| Purchased a JD1790 CCS 16R31 a while back and it did not have any trash wheels on it. We purchased some used Dawn coulter combos from a fellow and are just trying to put them on. The fellow who had the coulters had them set up in a variety of ways. Some were 2 wheels and the blade down the middle and others were 1 wheel over the row and the blade about 2 inches to the side of the row. Was wondering how any one else was using the coulter and trash wheel combo and how deep do you run the coulter? I will just have these on the 16-30 inch rows and will be used to notill sobeans into corn stalks and wheat stubble.
Also, there are 4 units with longer arms on them. Do they all go on the center planting units or in between the wheels on the center and on the wings?
This is our first CCS so if you have any tips, do's or don'ts, please share. | |
