I don't know about the 9000 series. I know you have to have the 30 series for the wiring and brakes, but I would think you would be able to get one wired into the GS 2 on any rig.. I also know that an 8130 8230 and 8330 will not work. I haven't seen it, but apparently, the hitch mounts to the frame of the tractor some how. They do not make the hitch for the smaller 3 8030 series, Which is weird because I thought the frame was the same on all those tractors. Also, They want you to have the 30 series so you can get the trailer brake option. However, there is a way around that. These are meant to be pulled fast. They are BUILT HEAVY. I am not 100% sure of these facts, just repeating what i have been told.

My uncle is having a machine shop fabricate a hitch for his 8320. I've heard the hitch from JD is $2500
