Found a box full of old slides from my Grandparents and would like to view them, and best case would be to convert them to digital format to save to a disk. It’s like finding buried treasure.
Any ideas?

Whatever you do to save them to digital media, the original photos will probably outlast them all. You could share them on a cloud account or you could set up a webpage archive, but they only last as long as someone pay the fees. CDROMs should last a few years, but they are already becoming obsolete. It might be hard to find a CDROM drive in a few years, and besides, plastic liquifies eventually. Flash drives are even more ephemeral, and they tend to wink out within 10 years.

You could do what I finally decided to do with my family archive; just share a few online, but keep the bulk of the collection as the original photos.
