Seneca Kansas 66538 | IF the lock nuts on the bolts that tighten the slip clutches to the splines happen to loosen during operation you can wind up slipping the clutch over the splines and round the spline off which then requires replacing the slip clutch or else just welding on the splines so it cant slip over, not a big deal but definately check those nuts for being properly torqued a couple times during the harvesting season. I had one on a cornhead we never checked for a couple years slip over and wound up welding it because it didnt matter how tight I torque it, just didnt have enough splines left to hold. No big deal though, but if you buy a hugger take the time to check the torques on those nuts or they can loosen and roll over the splines in time. This doesnt ruin anything but the slip clutch on the row that happens to come loose. | |
