I think you are on the right track.
Only other thing I would do is advertise it on craigslist and you might be able to sell some of the big parts yourself. Like hood, engine and tranny. Or just put on CL as a whole for $2500. You might be surprised. If it doesn't sell in a couple weeks then just junk it.
