Subject: RE: ouch...

Sioux Falls, SD
There are quite a few drainage districts that are now defunct. Tile installed after both world wars. We rent a farm that a 36" main runs through, 1600 or so acres. Tile keeps adding to it and is over loaded. Fixed 3 blow outs in last 5 year's on the quarter section. 11 to 15 feet deep and was installed in 1919. This country is just plain wetter than it used to be. Changed when damns were put in on the Missouri, and seems to get even wetter as row crops creep West instead of small grains and flowers. However, that is a chicken or the egg thing.
