El Campo/Houston, TX | Dad got a raw deal on an engine a while back- the machine shop that we used told him that his perfectly fine virgin 855 Big Cam IV block was ruined and he needed a new one (despite engine being rebuilt solely because it was burning oil after 22 thousand hours). The block that they sold him after taking his block of course turned out to be already machined below the minimum height and had had a spun bearing already. Also the block had previously had repair sleeves put in it. Our NEW machine shop tells us that we are at the end of the line on this block. Looking for any Big Cam block or complete engine. Would be really nice to have a running one so we aren't greeted with all manner of surprises when we get into it. Do not care what horsepower it was, will be building it back to our 500 HP factory CPL. Do not mind if it is in a cab over or old truck or whatever it might be. The only requirement is that it is the NT 88, This is the one that has the two bolt holes in the block immediately in front of the number 1 cylinder in the deck for the fan to mount on. | |
