My house has cedar siding and is light blue, I don't think color matters. Bunch of articles saying spraying insecticide on house doesn't work, but I don't agree. I spray my whole house 2-4 times a year, tempo, permethrin or bifenthrin, whatever I have, I haven't heard pecking in 3 years since I started.

Also don't tell anyone about shooting them, they are federally protected, I've heard it helps though....
