not saying I always take mine out but having a receiver hitch in without a trailer is illegal at least here ..
My work truck receiver hitch stays in 99% of the time but keep in mind it only puts on about 2,000 miles a year. My good truck always has it’s receiver hitch removed when not in use. The main reason for this is my work truck has 4’-5’ of clearance behind it when parked in the shop so I’m not worried about the overhead door hitting it. My good truck only has about 18” behind it in the garage and I don’t want the door to hit it just in case I don’t drive far enough ahead :-). |
I think I will stay home.
