Subject: RE: There goes the PNW wheat market again

Eastern Idaho
Been on the phone with the couple elevators I deal with, and so far everyone seems to be downplaying this. Minnie is running about -.35 basis against July, KC is +.50 for hard WHITE wheat, Chicago for soft white is about even with the board. The managers I've talked with claim nothing will come of this because none of the wheat made it into the food chain. I told them my perspective is it doesn't matter because perception is reality, and if the pacific rim countries shut us off again......well...….we know what happened the last time GE wheat was found in the PNW, and I can't imagine those countries will have much of a sense of humor about it happening again.
