There are ways you could design a baler so it automatically makes the same length bales regardless of speed and windrow size. Saving an extra field operation is worth a lot of money when the condition of your horse hay is at risk.


Hi John - 
I have often wondered why someone can't make a small square baler that has a fixed chamber (or two) where the hay is stuffed to form a set length of bale.  Then the knotters are tripped by the weight in the chamber or the tension the hay is under, and not by the length of the bale.  There has to be a better way to form a bale then the current method.
