UP / Thumb of Michigan

I think he's right on. I hear them go by my house going about 150 mph sometimes and I wait to hear the BOOM when they hit the deer, dog, cat, coon, possum etc that we have everywhere. You have to let them find their own destiny. You can't legally ride a quad in michigan in your own yard going 5 mph without a helmet but you can ride a motorcycle 150 mph on the dangerous highway without one. The USA is like an episode of South Park every time you look out the window.

You have pretty good hearing- most law enforcement people seem to think using radar is more accurate than the judging speed by the sound method.

I'm in the UP often. Have friends who live in areas where many snowmobiles use the trails every winter. Unless you have a direct link to making a buck on them, they're universally disliked in most places. Hated in some. "Bubbleheads" is one of the nicer terms the haters use. Now, I don't lump all sledders in with the few A-holes who want to drink all day and night, run way over the speed limits (according to radar, not by sound) and hit trees and kill themselves or others when they run out of talent. Most ride reasonably.

I don't have any idea why people would want to lump all motorcyclists into one group, either.
