Another consideration is insurance on seed while in your storage. Maybe the amount one has to carry over would be inconsequential if destroyed, but it is a consideration. I think most of us haven't checked into the year-long seed coverage in the past. 

I'm not saying you don't have the coverage, I'm suggesting to check it out. The needed extra coverage isn't too expensive, but it's another factor in the "should I keep it or return it" question.
