Deere hasn't used Japanese or any quality replacement according to what I have picked up for awhile. Use your fafnirs and it should be better. Their baler bearings tend to be eastern European or cheaper like China. I never have figured out why the bearing house can sell me a fafnir for half the money of Deere.
That's real easy to explain.
When Deere sells a bearing these things are different.
Deere has to make its markup (and that's not one markup its for every set of hands that handle the thing so think about 6 or 7 sets of hands) and its likely about 50 and maybe even 100% (each time).
The bearing house - - - on the other hand has less hands between where you get it and the bearing supplier (I think at least 2 and maybe as many as 4 but I think that's maybe high).
The bearing supply chain has lower markup levels as well so when you put the two chains in comparison - - - - well a lot more people get to make money when you buy from mother deere.
Its not nice that you don't want to support your economy you know. (Sarcasm off!) |
