I was running my Krone 3 point 6 basket tedder this evening. In mixed grass and alfalfa I find I don't want the tines turning real fast. In any alfalfa or clover mix I run the engine about 1600 and in almost road gear (6th gear of 8) this keeps the tines slow relative to forward speed and you don't lose a lot of alfalfa leaves. In grass you can run it at full 540 rpm but the important thing is the relative tine speed to forward speed. |
