I prepaid for liquid fertilizer and there were no terms and conditions upon paying. Basically I just locked in the rate. The company’s tanks would be filled regardless if I prepaid or not...so basically I just floated them an interest free loan for a year.
Yes their tank would have been full regardless, but what you don’t mention is that they don’t sell 1 tank of liquid fertilizer and that’s it for the season. They probably turn that tank 20 times or better and bought product ahead of time to do so. They can’t do that now because we can’t take the product so their suppliers/wholesalers are holding their feet to the fire. |
