Subject: RE: Yield Reduction

Near-north Ontario, French River
Depends on the rest of the summer... We typically plant corn first week of May or even last week of April if its an early spring. Latest we have ever planted was June 18, that year we probably took a 30bu yield hit.. Last year guys planted late and hit over 200 in some fields, our earliest field , planted first week of May barely made 120... its ALL about the weather. Last year we planted beans over the course of 7 weeks due to weather, early planted beans averaged mid 40's, beans planted June 35ish ran 62.... go figure. We haven't got anything in the ground yet, probably still 3-4 days away from being able to mud stuff in, not really concerned with beans but corn has me a bit worried. I know we can still get the yield but the chance of frost taking it out before it matures it what worries me.
