They are OK (not great, but OK) in a protected environment.  But out in the open and in a monitor where you might be dealling with a low signal situation, they are just a future service call waiting to happen.

I used to work for a guy who just loved wire nuts.  Crawling around in the snow under a gas truck trying to make a 2 speed axle shift when you are 40 miles from the office will cause you to swear never do anything but solder a connection again.
