| The 7000 was originally supplied with a meter that worked like the meter in a Deere grain drill and it didn't count seed accurately or plant even spacing. But it did plant. The Kinze was the first alternative and it works superb with precise counts and even seed spacing. Well worth the $130 it cost from Kinze dealers back then. Since then Deere has brought out a similar meter and Shoup Parts has a similar design. I haven't planted with the original Deere meters, I borrowed Kinze one year and then bought a set of used Kinze. Had to replace the brushes. I haven't planted with the Deere or Shoup brush meters either.
