SESD | That is a completely different relief thing. That bill was set up for flood relief and addition huricane aid for Puerto Rico. It was turned down by a Texas repuican because he didnt like the "swamp" idea of passing a bill when a large chunk of the House has already left for Memorial day. Thought that was kind of funny, couldn't decide what is more swampy, passing a bill with people gone or the fact that so many reps are not there on a day they are paid to be.
The MFP is still on the same Depression era program that allows the president to designate ag relief payments without congressional approval. | |
