Northwest Iowa
Do some good cop/bad cop scenarios. What if we break through the 4.40-4.50 area? How will you manage that? What if your crop really sucks and while you had thought you had 50% sold it ends up being 100%? I have possible targets that are much higher than we are trading today. It will not be a straight line to get there. We've had 5 years of sideways trading. There is a lot of technical fuel for Frytowns rocket! Buying puts in the Sept or Dec contracts gives maximum flexibility. While the Sept will expire in late August, it will give you a chance to evaluate your crop and monitor basis for your area to find an attractive cash market.
