I agree with you.

Planting is late or not at all yet, nearing the end of May.

Weather is not good. Forecast is not good, both cold and wet here, and really in a wide area of the bread basket.

Soil conditions are not good, just because acres got a planter drug over them doesn’t mean it creates a bumper crop. Lot of mudding in, lot of poor seed placement, lot of seed sitting in water today and we only had a 1/2 inch - that dirt wasn’t right for a good crop without this rain, and whatever comes the next 7 days.

Anything can happen, some exceptional fall weather can make a poor crop perk up pretty good.

But the odds are, we have a sub par crop coming out of this year.

That ignores potential PP acres, I wasn’t aware of PP happening around me before; we have a lot of tile and a plant it no matter what attitude around here, but people are sure talking about PP this year locally!
