NE Neb | Been in a few but not enough to remember where all the bushings go. There's few bushings in the tranny also there's a couple on the PTO pack. The PTO is directly over where the pumps suck from. Yes they suck oil through the filter.
Do what your thinking pull the side shift cover off. If everything looks decent there you could take a hyd pump side cover off to inspect as well. I don't know which one you would prefer but if it was me I'd take the one off the same side as the shift cover. Youll be able to see the PTO pack and park brake there.
If your on 30" spacing powershift the wheels out. Makes life a little easier to work on hyd pump covers.
