An implement dealer told me about a girl in Illinois that got her leg torn off in the combine. She threw it up on the head and drug herself back in the combine an made it back to the farm.
He worked at Mohr Implement in Eldridge, IA, he was not given to tall tales. That would have been around 1982. I'm pretty sure it wasn't later.
