Craigslist might have less volume than FB today - but the craigslist buyer is much less likely to be a time waster than the FB buyer. In my experience, selling on FB marketplace will garner many (A) - offers of less than 50% of the asking price, and B - trade offers for the used boat with no motor, dirt bike that just needs a top end, porch couch, etc. I use both, but you have to have a sense of humor to list on FB.


FB is lousy for finding help, but so far pretty good for selling vehicles. We sold a pickup this winter, had cash in hand in about 45 minutes with two more buyers waiting in the wings if the first one flaked out. The backup buyers really cut down the chance of price negotiation.
