I bought a piece of hardware to mate the tape player and the computer but could never get it to work. I finally ended up taking all my old format videos to a pro who put them on an archivable DVD. I think I paid $10/ tape no matter how much was on it. I have just last winter upgraded those DVD's to usb's and hard drives. It's amazing how fast the industry changes.
