Subject: Field IQ calibration number (dry fert)

Bonanza, Or
I have a Valmar airflow that I am running with a FMX, field IQ and rawson par 2. I have it set up in the FMX as an air seeder because of the metering rolls on the Valmar and it works well but you have to calibrate for each type of fert you run. You cannot just change the density and switch materials and have any kind of accuracy.
My question is when putting in a new material is there a way that I am overlooking to come up with an initial calibration number?
The only way I have found to do it is dry run the machine in the cal mode and when it finishes and gives the amount it should have applied I can enter the amount based on a known cuft per revolution of the metering rolls.
TIA
