Subject: RE: Basic programming

NW ILLINOIS
In the mid 70's I work for a printing plant and we
could not get data processing to write a program to
input our 24 hour production. I had to be all done by
hand and in a short time every morning.
I talked my boss into getting a TRS 80 model I later
expanded to Model II.
I wrote a ton of basic code to do this and when
we presented this at one of our morning meetings
all the data processing people sat there with their
mouth open.
We also had paper unwind (reels) equipment that was
all pneumatic. It was pretty sensitive with its settings.
I wrote a monitoring program for each of the 3 machines
that monitored the settings. If a component failed or
someone made a adjustment it could easily be seen.
I really enjoyed doing these projects.
