Subject: RE: Speed queen

Central Western VA Mountains
We bought a new Speed Queen back in December I think. It is the newer design without the old agitator. So far it has been a good machine. It does not get grease/heavy soil stained clothes totally clean, but close. Normal washing, no problem. It is scary quite compared to the old Maytag and unbelievably balanced even during the spin cycle. On the flip side of not getting grease and heavy dirt clothes totally clean, the gentleness of the wash cycle doesn't "wear" the clothes. Hard to explain, but the old Maytag, it seemed hard on kakis, this machine doesn't.

I saw online Speed Queen is changing back to an agitator design, don't know if that's across the line or not. I guess we will keep our washer - we are satisfied with it. If the new Speed Queen with an agitator is back, it would be nice if Speed Queen would offer a substantial rebate to those that bought the "new and improved" models for the next "new and improved, but back to the old agitator" model. Like I said, we will be keeping our present machine.
