Not sure what you have for metal behind or around the foam, but I have seldom ever seen foam on the inner face of a shop door that didn't eventually get eaten up, fall off, get badly stained/soiled, chipped up/beat up... best solution I've seen is to retrofit the door with the foam plus an inner steel liner over the foam. Completely encase the foam so nothing ever touches it. This is generally one of the available options on a brand new door, but shouldn't be too difficult to add to an existing door. The top and bottom edges of each panel generally have a lip that is wide enough to accept a pop rivet. If you cannot get the pieces directly from the maker of the door, have a local furnace/HVAC shop shear them to size and install them... AT LEAST on the bottom six feet, but all the way up would be better.
