Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | High voltage and wild critters don't mix too well.
Our farm power transformer is on a pole along the path from house to shop. We had a little brown tree squirrel that found out the transformer top was nice and warm in winter. On low wind winter days we would see him spread out flat on top of the transformer, enjoying sunshine plus the warm transformer. One winter noon while walking from shop to house for dinner, we found our little squirrel at the base of the pole. A burn mark from his right ear, all down his side to his right rear foot. One chance mistake of putting his head too close to the 7200 volt line terminal ended his sweet deal. |
