| Considering doing some custom drying and storage on corn for a share crop landlord. Wondering what is fair to charge. Would be a grain leg, continuous flow propane dryer, everything blended right in and stored with my corn to keep it simple. Would know exact bushels that is the landlords through a scale and adjust for moisture, so not worried about keeping that straight. Want to keep it simple. Had the dryer technician run some numbers in their computer program which shows electrical would cost just over one tenth of one cent per point per bushel. For drying I was going to charge one penny per point per bushel plus they pay propane. Not a huge portion of the operation and would all be blended right in with my corn for simplicity so not worried that the $.01/bu/point might be on the low end.
For those experienced with this, what is fair? | |
