Well I hate to mention it as the weather is very unfortunate for many. But wanted to share current events. I'm setup to move my pairs off winter grazing pasture tomorrow. It really was a crappy season, as I brought them on January 17 I think and have been pretty well out of feed for a week. But I'm reminded it could be much worse. Just about 1/3 of average rainfall in February and March and small grains don't hang on in this sand.

This year is looking much brighter as I picked up 100 acre grazing lease at a real good price. It is the farm where I started in 2011. It's a good location, good pond, good shade, decent fence, decent forages. I lost this in 2017 for no fault of ours/mine, but was invited back. This was row crop farmed in 2016, and weeds and grasses have grown in in the last 2 years. I will spray herbicide for broadleaves and bahiagrass and common Bermuda will most likely take over completely.

I have always got to this point in the year and had to decide what to take to a 22 acre pasture, or later I had 22+ a 35 acre, and now have 22+35+100 of summer grass, and can really put together as many acres of winter grazing as I think I need/can afford.

Just wanted to share some pics and some good news.
