Answer----------------  a lot.

There are some formula's on the net that will tell.  But, technically, more needs to be known.  Depth of water, how far up the channel, how wide the water is, and probably some more things I am unsure of. 

I needed to know about something  similar info a few years ago, and that is what some of the local engineer questions were.
