Might pay to invest in a simple soil test.

A neighbor wanted to put in a garden, he picked the old livestock lot, he multched and tilled and added fertilizer (manure I think but whatever he didn’t skimp) then planted his garden.

It grew great, but everything went to vegetation and then fell over, no real harvestable crop. The ground was so rich and heavy in nutrients it was just overdone.

Anyhow, be careful he doesn’t overdo trying to make a real rich garden, the pile of weeds kinda says something is a little out of balance don’t make it worse.

Dad got rid of hogs 52 years ago, the acre of field I plant that was part of the hog yard is still so rich in nutrients I don’t need more than N to grow field corn.....
