Mid Michigan
That's a nice old Polaris. You should keep at it. It took me a lot of willpower and a few years of tinkering to find the ambition to get ours going. They are pretty simple though. Your Polaris probably has simple points under the flywheel and coil for spark. Parts are usually available on ebay pretty easy. We have an old Viking snowmobile with a 319 Kohler single cylinder that I'm going to work on next. Brother and myself used to get home from school and fight over who got to ride the Viking. We usually couldn't get it started because we weren't strong enough to pull the cord and my mother couldn't do it either. I remember we used to get mad at her because she wasn't strong enough to start it. We usually had to wait for dad to come home and do it. Old snomobiles are a whole lot of wrenching and not always a lot of riding. Sure was fun though with the whole neighborhood owning them back in the day. Now it's super rare around here to see anybody riding and that's the truth.
