years ago,   we could buy  windbreak slabs  pretty reasonably from   sawmills.     Price per running foot was hard to beat, sure,  labor  is higher.   So the trade off was  your  labor costs. 

With  today's   technology on getting every fiber out of a log,    are slabs  still a thing? 

I'm considering   woven fabric (cheapest,  but  least  longevity)    corrugated  steel  and the old stand by,  slabs  if   still   being sold.
