Southwest MN | Selling seed stock her sons would easily pay that back in a year or 2. That ewe family only a couple have not been 300% lifetime ewes that can raise trips and quads. Grand momma was #3 in the polypay breed for awhile until she got older. She was the kind of ewe that you can build a program around. Her record was weaning 190% of her bodyweight at weaning 4 lambs in 60 days 288# total. This ewe has potential to be an amazing ewe that can produce daughters people can haul home do things wrong and still wean 200% lamb crop. Problem is in purebred you cannot even buy that type of ewe lamb. I would have paid $2000 for that kind of ewe lamb if ever given opportunity but being a closed flock pretty much nonexistent to find what I need. | |
