Southern Alberta | The 16 1500 will be much lighter than the 2001 2500, assuming the 2500 is the HD. So traction and control could be a problem in a lighter truck, depending on what it is that you want to tow. You don't want the tail wagging the dog. The 2500HD would handle pallets of seed in the truck box better than the 1500. The 6.0l in the 2001 will burn WAY more fuel than the 5.3 in the 2016.
If the 2001 2500 is not a heavy duty, then I think the 16 1500 would be every bit as capable or even more. | |
