Chebanse, IL.....

I'm not criticizing or arguing, but re. the "oversize radiator", what was oversize about it?

We had the complete kit on a side console 4020. Drove down to the factory @ Gibson City & picked it up. Turbo, oil pan, 7 blade fan, larger fan shrouding, pyrometer, chrome pipe (+ 10 hp!!!!) etc. We did NOT change the radiator & I don't remember a larger radiator being offered for the 4020 kit. Not sure how it could've been bigger.

Seems one of the biggest airflow drags on the stock radiator was the placement of the air filter in front of the radiator. I have seen some remove the air cleaner & move it to an external location. Didn't do anything for the looks, but helped remove the airflow blockage. The other common problem was diesel fuel leakage somewhere around the tank that would get sucked back to the radiator and then start blocking it as dirt accumulated.
