SE ND | Lets pick on the 8R for a moment. From a 8235R to an 8360R there are certainly differences and options. Surprisingly, most "tuners" will think that just because it's the same 9.0l motor that they are identical. However, 8235R to 8285R are 100% identical (now take into consideration that you can have 3 different options of front ends to choose from, and different transmissions) but they are 100% identical.
Once you jump to an 8310R-8360R you get bigger injectors, and turbo. These 3 models are 100% identical relatively speaking if they all have the IVT transmission. Front end will be either 1500 or ILS. The only difference is a software in the engine control unit to limit the HP/TQ output.
This is why many farmer are opting to buying the smaller model in its series and tuning it up. | |
